This break is variable. If the sand banks are right it can be a good alternative, less populated break in mid to high tide.

The most consistent break in Liencres. Works best in mid to high tide, left and rights. At high tide there is a wicked left hander which breaks over the rocks, gotta be quick.

In front of the life guard station of the Canallave beach there is sometimes a nice left hander that breaks left off th rocks, works best in a low rising tide.

Between the beaches of Valdearenas and Canallave on the right side of the protruding rocks in front of the Canallave life guard station look for a fast tuby right hander that breaks off the rocks in low tide. Further west of the rocks there are also a host of breaks to surf.

There are a host of surf breaks on the almost 2 kilometer beach of Valdearenas, they can work in a all tides. The quality and location of the breaks can change daily depending on the sand banks and currents.

When the sand banks are right this can be one of the best waves in Cantabria for expert surfers. Barrelling, board snapping lefts on shallow sand banks. Usually crowded when its working.

Explore the pine forest dunes of Liencres on a moutain bike

After surfing or while wating for the tide to change or the wind to drop you can kill time and get out of the sun cycling or walking through the trails in the pine forests in the Natural Park of Liencres. Lots of fun trails to explore on the east side of the main access road.
